What is your cancellation policy?
Reservations, other than those noted as non-cancelable, non-refundable, must be cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival date by 3 PM to avoid a penalty of one nights room and tax.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is guaranteed by 3:00 p.m. at our Philadelphia hotel, while check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

Independent Hotel guests are invited to use the complimentary fitness facilities of 12th Street Gym. The gym is open:
- Monday – Thursday: 5:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
What are the parking options for the hotel?
Parking is available at EZ Park for a charge of $15 per 24-hour period with unlimited in and out privileges. LAZ Parking Garage also has parking available at $15 per 24-hour period with no in and out privileges. Both parking lots are situated diagonally across the street from The Independent on Locust Street, before 13th Street.
Who should I contact with any billing, payment questions?
We accept all major credit cards, with ID required at check-in. A credit card is required for incidentals at check-in, according to industry standards. Please feel free to contact the hotel at 215.772.1440 with any questions regarding billing and payment.
How many people can your rooms accommodate?
Our rooms are furnished to easily accommodate up to 2 or 6 people per room, depending on room type. Please see the Rooms page for details.
